Dearborn Rotary Nursing Scholarship
The Nursing Scholarship was developed in 2002 by Dearborn Rotary in partnership with Henry Ford Community College. The Scholarship’s goal is to provide financial assistance to full-time Nursing Program students. This past year, two students received awards of $600 ea.
The criteria for the award are:
- Full-time student with minimum of 9 credit hours.
- Evidence of community service
- Financial Need
- Minimum GPA 3.3
The scholarship is officially known as the “Dearborn Rotary Endowed Scholarship (E7328)”. The scholarship is administered by the HFC Foundation Office which handles all other HFC scholarships. Interested applicants can apply at: hfcc.edu/tuition-and-payment/scholarships. The HFC Scholarship Coordinator screens the applicant’s qualifications and forwards the qualified candidate’s applications to the Director of Nursing who selects the winners. The award can be used for tuition, fees, books, clinical supplies/instruments, and uniforms.
Rotary will have an event (typically in April) to celebrate the awarding of all Dearborn Rotary scholarships. The winner, their parents/guardians, and Director of Nursing will be invited to share in this celebration.
