We invite you to support the Rotary Club of Dearborn as we celebrate 100 years of “Service Above Self” in the local community and worldwide. This event will feature a strolling dinner with music provided by the HFC Big Band under the baton of conductor, Kevin Dewey. We’ll then move to the auditorium and soak up the sounds of THE TEMPTATIONS REVIEW featuring the legacy of DENNIS EDWARDS with an opening performance by Thornetta Davis, Detroit’s Queen of the Blues! This type of event only happens once every 100 years. Come celebrate with us!!
Founded in 1923, we are the oldest service organization in Dearborn – making a difference both locally and internationally. Following are some of the more recent ways:
- Awarded more than $700,000 in scholarships since 1999 to graduating high school seniors, nursing students and veterans
- Partnered with Henry Ford College to build Kingfisher Bluff overlook on the Rouge River
- Partnered with UM-Dearborn to fund Environmental Interpretive Center Quiet Room
- Annual donations to Dearborn Public Library for purchase of new books
- Introduction and funding of “My Potential Mentoring Program” in local high schools
- Two decades of funding and support for children and families in Chinandega, Nicaragua
- Planted trees at Salina Elementary, Greenfield Village and Rouge/Fort Street Heritage Park
- Donations of food and supplies to children, families, health care and municipal workers impacted by Covid 19 pandemic
- More than three decades of volunteer work for Meals on Wheels and Telegraph Clean-up
With monies raised from our 100th anniversary celebration, the Rotary Club of Dearborn will fund a community project to help renovate the auditorium of Dearborn’s Henry Ford Centennial Library, making it more accessible to individuals and groups. Your support to benefit this wonderfully diverse community is welcomed.
Sincerely yours,
